Derby still want Vaughan

James Vaughan could be set to switch Goodison Park for another shot with Derby County in the new year.

Vaughan had made the move earlier this season, but following an injury his loan ended and he returned to Everton.

But the Championship club are hoping to bring him back soon.

'We hope to get him down at some point for a training session with us, so he doesn't come in cold in January.' Derby manager Nigel Clough told the Evening Telegraph.

They seem pretty confident of getting him too, they can keep him as fare as I'm concerned. Never saw what everyone raved about him, a headless chicken of a player

If he gets half a season under his belt there then it will be a lot easier to judge him. He's still young and I`d back him to score lots of goals at that level.

He came onto the scene looking very promising. Has electric pace but unfortunately the qualities stop there. Like Mike says, he's a headless chicken. And it just doesn't make sense to keep someone so injury prone. He makes Saha look good in that sense!

He'll probably score goals at that level if he stays fit, but I can't see him making it in the PL, certainly wouldn't bother renewing his contract
EvertonMike
I thought his workrate was infectious. His determination won a lot of people over, especially when comparing him to Victor Anichebe. I'd say of the two Victor is the more technically gifted, however Vaughany is the more hardworking. It's a bit like comparing AJ to the Yak!

Victor has the raw talent to be a top centre forward, I'd keep him for sure, when he feels like it he could be unplayabale
