Scharner to make Everton switch?

According to our friends at Vital Wigan, Paul Scharner could be set to leave Wigan when the transfer window opens and Everton could be a likely destination.

Scharner is out of contract with Wigan in the summer, so this will be Wigan's last chance to get any sort of fee for the versatile Austrian.

Scharner does hold a £6million release clause, but that price is likely to be at least halved with so little of his contract remaining.

I think he's alright you know. Seems to be reliable in the DM position where we could desperately do with some cover. Nev's getting on, and he could be a decent replacement.

If we get rid of yobo in january or the summer, he could do a good job at centre half too. But £6 million we do not have to spend

For me he is one of those players who I`d prefer to have in our squad rather than on an opposition team sheet. I also think he is a realistic target. We wouldn't have to meet the get out clause figure of £6million with his contract up at the end of the season. Wigan wouldn't want him to leave for nothing so lets put in a cheeky £1-2 million bid and see where that gets us.

Yeah, I'd go up to about £2.5mil. If nothing then wait for his contract to expire. I don't like that kind of approach as it's not nice when it's done to you, but it's almost essential due to our poor financial backing.

I wouldn't even have him in our squad to prevent him from scoring against us. He's not good enough in my eyes and we should just work harder at preventing his current side from scoring against us.
