Everton to request work permit for Valencia star

Moyes made known on friday afternoon before Everton's heavy defeat to Arsenal that he hoped to have two new faces installed within fourty-eight hours.

It would appear as though Banega will become Everton's second signing of the summer after Brazilian Jo, if Everton can gain special dispensation from the Home Office to allow Banega to play in England, despite not playing enough games at international level to fulfill the usual criteria.

Everton hope the player being an exceptional talent, having played for Boca Juniors, Valencia and Atletico Madrid as well as representing his country at the Olympic games should be enough to be able to secure a conditional work permit.

Meanwhile The Mirror are reporting that David Moyes is ready to offer £12 million for Tottenham duo Alan Hutton and David Bentley in an attempt to solve Everton's current right-sided crisis.

he Blues could fance competition from Aston Villa for Bentley though, as Martin O'Neill is also rumoured to be keen on the winger.

Bentley would be an excellent signing in my opinion, it would be nice to have options on the right with these two. Banega could prove to be an astute signing by Moyes but I fear the permit will never get the go ahead. It only ever seems to be the top four who are able to receive special dispensation.

No chance that the work permit will be granted and Bentley and Hutton for 12m tell Moyes to wake up, take his hand off his dick. We dont need to sell either and wont for 8m less than we paid for them. Gonna be a long season for your tiny squad.

Yeah, nice one Teddy. It was straight from Moyesy's mouth that you heard that, of course. If you'd developed the ability to read you can of course, quite clearly see that the Mirror are reporting it. You've got to be incredibly stupid to believe everything you read in a newspaper and the Mirror's hardly renowned for it's truthfulness is it? As for Banega, I think if what I've heard is true, that he could be a very useful addition. However, after last seasons attempts at signing Obinna, I'm also very sceptical about the work permit situation. I'd be happy with Hutton. Not so sure about Bentley. Personally I've always thought he was over rated. And this drink drive charge hardly endears me to him either.

Bentley hasn't performed for us at all and really doesnt look interested at the moment. Maybe he'll get a run against Doncaster next week to show Harry he can actually play football. I think many of the spurs faithful would be happy to see him go before then though. Hutton is a good player who's had a bad run of injuries with us. I'd actually like to see them both go to the Toffees to revitalise them... Looking at your squad i thought it lacked depth before the game against arsenal.... i hope for your sake it was just a one off bad performance..

I'm surprised to see you going for Banega to be honest. He's great with the ball at his feet - very skillfull and with a good passing range, but he's very, very lightweight for such a deep-lying midfielder in the Premiership. If you got him, who do you think would start in the centre of midfield? I can't really see a player in your team who would really work well with him IMO, unless you play 5 in midfield...

We always player 5 in midfield. he will be Arteta's replacement until he gets fit, and from then on hopefully play alongside him with Cahill/fellaini behind the striker. Depending how he adapts, wouldn't surprise me if he plays on the wing for a while. He will get a work permit, this is just a formality. Anyone who has recently played for a top international nation, at his age, will easily be classed as an exceptional talent.

I hope you're right Mike. We don't want another Obinna situation. Based on that logic, how did Chelsea manage to get a permit for Obi Mikel? He had played only a handful of internationals at the time, like Obinna yet was considered an exceptional talent playing for Lyn/Oslo? Obinna was playing in Serie A for Chievo and was signed by Inter?

Difference is we only make moves for these plauyers on loan, rather than committing to buy. It's very easy to get a work permit for somebody who you are paying any kind of fee for, and chelski committed to paying a lot for Mikel if i remember rightly. I'm still very confident it will get approved.

Something in the region of £16mil I believe it was Mike. Something like £10mil to Man Utd and £6mil to Lyn. It was one of the dodgiest transfers I've ever seen! I'm really happy about this signing though. Think he can really add something to our midfield. And even if he doesn't, he's only on a years loan so we can just get shot of him if he doesn't suit the premier league.
